Pregnancy
is an important time to look after yourself both physically and
mentally, giving your baby the ideal conditions in which to thrive.
During pregnancy, massage is a completely safe, natural, drug
free method to help alleviate the aches and pains caused by weight
and posture change. It can also help to reduce fluid retention,
help to prevent or reduce the appearance of stretch marks, relieve
sleeplessness and generally prepare the body for birth.
Varying positions are used, usually side-lying, and lots of pillows
are used for comfort and support. Aromatherapy oils are carefully
selected and blended to enhance the experience.
Massage is good for baby too. Research has shown that the unborn
baby can be affected by the stress levels experienced by its mother.
As a result of skin stimulation, the mother releases oxytocin
and prolactin, the body's 'feel good' hormones and this has an
indirect relaxing effect on the baby.
During the postnatal period, massage can aid your body in its
rehabilitation efforts and give you the opportunity to relax and
have time to yourself.
Appointments can take place at your home or at Natural Natal
in Windsor. Suitable for pregnant women between 13 and 40+ weeks.
